
Social media personality and activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has shared details of what he described as an encounter with alleged armed thugs during a protest in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
In a video posted on his social media platforms, VeryDarkMan claimed that a group of men believed to be armed disrupted the protest and attempted to intimidate participants.
According to him, the incident occurred while demonstrators were exercising their right to peaceful assembly.
“We came out to protest peacefully, but some individuals allegedly arrived at the scene with weapons and tried to cause fear among the people,” he said in the video.
VeryDarkMan expressed concern over the safety of protesters and called on security agencies to investigate the incident and ensure that citizens are protected while exercising their constitutional rights.
The activist did not disclose whether anyone was injured during the alleged confrontation.
As of the time of filing this report, the Oyo State Police Command had not issued an official statement regarding the allegations made in the video.
The video has since generated reactions on social media, with supporters expressing concern over the claims, while others called for an independent investigation into the incident.
