American rapper and singer Nicki Minaj has spoken about what she described as the “spiritual warfare” she has experienced throughout her career in the music industry.
Speaking on the 200th episode of The Bryce Crawford Podcast, hosted by evangelist Bryce Crawford, the award-winning artiste said she wished she had understood earlier how spiritually challenging the entertainment industry could be.
“It was constant spiritual warfare. I wish I kind of knew sooner that this music industry was such a spiritual experience because I felt like I brought a knife to a gunfight,” Minaj said.
The rapper claimed that certain influential individuals in the industry had made life difficult for her and other talented artistes who refused to do things their way.
According to her, some of these figures view musicians as assets to be monetised and attempt to frustrate those who do not conform.
During the interview, Minaj was also asked whether she believed in the existence of the Illuminati.
While she stopped short of confirming the idea, she said she could not completely rule it out.
“My situation, I feel like it’s very personal. I feel that there definitely is a group of people who have made things very difficult for me, but I don’t know if they’re Illuminati. I don’t know what they are,” she said.
She added, “I never looked at it like an entire secret society against me. But who knows, you know? It could be.”
Minaj did not name any individuals or organisations she believed were responsible for the experiences she described.
The Grammy-nominated artiste’s remarks have since generated conversations among fans on social media, with many debating her views on the pressures and unseen struggles within the music industry.
